The 1st Congress of the Association "National Union of Producers of Halal Products and Services" was held at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The event brought together representatives of the sector, including manufacturers, certification bodies, the expert community, and relevant agencies. Aidar Gazizov, Director General of the International Halal Standardization and Certification Center at the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of the Russian Federation, quoted the words of Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, spoken in May of this year to Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Rashoodi, head of the Saudi Arabian Halal Center: "For us, halal isn't a business; it's a trust . "

The importance of this thesis for global market participants was confirmed by Yuri Zubarev, Deputy Director of the V.M. Gorbatov Federal Scientific Center for Food Systems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He noted the importance of international halal standards in the development of the Russian industry: "The general trend globally is to necessarily consider halal standards; these criteria are being addressed and taken into account. This demonstrates that the demand for products that comply with Islamic norms is growing daily. Halal products are associated with quality. This underscores the high level of work being done by certification bodies, led by muftis, in the Russian Federation . "

The speakers emphasized the importance of maintaining consumer confidence in halal products for the development of this sector of the Russian economy in both domestic and foreign markets. The scientific community is also prepared to contribute to this, stated Viktor Gushchin, Scientific Director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Poultry Processing Industry and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He also emphasized the importance of high-quality certification according to halal standards: "This is additional control over products entering the market. I often go there myself and observe how our customers perceive such products. Many have already become accustomed to buying products that are labeled 'Halal' on the shelves . "
