New milestone in the history of Russian and Saudi Muslims 26.11.2019 16:58The document was signed by the Chairman of the RMC, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, and Minister for Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Sheikh Abdulatif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh.
The signed document will give a boost to the cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia in the religious, educational, social, humanitarian and cultural spheres. The parties agreed to exert their best efforts in order to spread the values of Islam, explain the advantages of this religion and develop a common approach towards current challenges.
The memorandum will allow the Muslim communities of the both states to oppose radicalism, terrorism and extremism in a more effective way through the implementation of educational programs, conducting international religious conferences and forums and spreading the values of moderate Islam, i.e. moderation in matters of religion, kindness and tolerant attitude towards representatives of other cultures, nations and religions.
“For us, cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in countering terrorism and extremism and conducting joint programs aimed at raising the people's awareness about Islam is extremely important. Russia has a centuries-old experience of good relationships with other countries and is ready to share it, ” said the religious leader of Russian Muslims.
The document also implies the cooperation of the parties in the field of education,theology and fatwa issuance.
